Introduction
CECAM (Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Moléculaire) is a European organization fostering fundamental research on computational science for societal benefit (www.cecam.org).
At CECAM Headquarters in EPF-Lausanne, we are seeking an Events & Operations Manager (80%-100% to be discussed).
Mission
As CECAM Events & Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal and multi-disciplinary role within a small team, carrying out CECAM's activities in Switzerland and its relationship with its key international stakeholders.
Main duties and responsibilities- Overview of the yearly plan of CECAM events in Lausanne (EPFL), Zurich (ETHZ), and Lugano (USI)
- Supervise the logistics and activities associated with an event (e.g., room preparation, streaming, production of event materials, etc.)
- Manage online events and oversee the update of the related user guides
- Manage the yearly contract negotiation with hotels
- Onsite presence during the event (including 2 to 4 times per year in Zürich and Lugano)
- Act as the main point of contact for the Council members and Node Directors for the yearly Council & the BoD meetings
- Contribute to implementing CECAM communication strategy, manage social media presence & coordinate the publication material for the website (news items, video, etc.)
- Contribute to developing and updating the Event management features on the CECAM website
- Lead the execution of current and future initiatives and coordinate the administrative team, aligning with the strategic vision established by the CECAM Directorship
- Present CECAM to visitors of CECAM Headquarters & prepare all relevant material (statistics, PPT, etc.)
- Manage the branding and infrastructure projects for the Headquarters in Lausanne
- Coordinate the use of CECAM meeting rooms with the EPFL community
- University level (Bachelor or higher) with at least 5 years' experience in events or project management
- Fluent in French and English; any other language is a plus
- Rigorous and detail-oriented with a positive mindset
- Strong team-player mentality
- Ability to multi-task
- Proficient with MS Office & comfortable with IT tools
