The Position
International Business Leader SWA Systems
Core Lab Customer Area
As the International Business Leader for SWA Systems, you will be a member of the SWA Systems Lifecycle Leadership Team. You own the commercialisation strategy of the SWA Systems portfolio and ensure a successful implementation of the strategies.At the same time you are supporting the Lifecycle Team and the Customer Area Core Lab to deliver on its overarching priorities contributing to a holistic customer solution approach.
You will be a key interface in translating customer and business needs, as well as strategy on several levels into clear priorities for the International Business Team (IBT). As such, you will closely work with the Customer Area Core Lab, the corresponding Functional Partners as well as our partner Hitachi High Tech (HHT).
Your main responsibilities will include:
Drive business results and customer value- Be accountable for the commercial success of the respective portfolio
- Create the long-term strategic vision and product roadmaps for the respective segment together with Lifecycle Leader (LCL), IBL Mass Spec and Project Leaders (PL)
- Primary point of contact for affiliates for questions about the overall IBT product portfolio
- Identify new market opportunities and manage market risks
- Develop and update the business cases and business plans for all IBT investments
- Monitor market and customer feedback for lifecycle activities
- Manage on market issues for product portfolio
- Ensure availability of products for sale in right quality, quantity, cost and time
- Prepare/track the global marketing budget, recommending adjustments in response to internal/external influences
- Build on priorities from Customer Areas and LCTs, define common objectives and KPIs for the Network
- Collaborate with other Lifecycle Leaders and Lifecycle Teams on total business solutions
- Manage relationships and communication with affiliates, other divisions and partners
- Manage HHT partnership on appropriate level / in appropriate committees
- Responsible for flow of relevant information between the LCT, International Business Team (IBT) and affiliates
- Mobilize the organization to support the product portfolio, including regions, sites and local management
- Lead a highly effective International Business Team
- Engage the IBT and cross-functional organizations towards a joint vision and common goals around our long-term strategic ambitions
- Provide guidance and mentorship for the organization
- Model behaviors to support the organization’s transformation to new, more Agile Ways of Working – e.g. decision making/governance practices, collaboration, etc.
Who You Are:
High degree of subject matter expertise:
- Extensive years of sound marketing and/or sales experience in the IVD industry on a local, regional and/or global level
- Scientific, Medical or Economics background, business acumen, and experience with our SWA Systems portfolio as well as the overall Core Lab portfolio required
- Deep understanding of the Diagnostics industry, lifecycle & development process and global trends
- Past experience of working in an affiliate and/or global marketing and/or sales leadership role (local AND global experience preferred)
- Experience in managing external partnerships.

- Proven ability to inspire and motivate teams to make a big impact and deliver their best every day
- Consistent record of building collaborative relationships with peers and teams, helping cross-functional teams address strategic opportunities and solve problems across the organization
- Senior-level experience leading, motivating, coaching, and developing people and teams to drive customer focus in our mindset, work priorities and collaborative behaviors
- Evidence of strong strategic thinking, communication, planning and organizational skills required.
- Able to foster positive partnerships through effective influencing, negotiation and conflict management skills to achieve alignment up and down the organization
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including clear, succinct and timely communication and proven ability to foster and build important relationships with customers and key stakeholders
- Ability to navigate within a changing organization, maintaining objectivity, respect for differences of opinion, fairness, open communication and consensus building skills
- High level of cultural sensitivity; experience in a Japanese environment is a plus.
- A desire and openness to learning and continuous improvement, both of yourself and your team members
