The Position
The Analytical Research & Development (ARD) department is part of Global Technical Development and responsible for the analysis of drug substances and dosage forms of synthetic molecule development products, at the Roche Basel site. This includes the development, optimization and validation of advanced analytical methods applying state-of-the-art equipment and technologies.
As part of the ARD department, the analytical development sections are responsible for the development of resource and cost efficient analytical methods by use of state of the art and innovative techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography, gas or mass spectrometry.The ultimate goal of our work is the development of a robust control strategy to release products for clinical trials, and finally for commercial supply.
As an intern you will support the Analytical Research & Development (ARD) department in evaluating and characterizing commercially available gel-based swallowing aids for oral solid dosage forms.
The Opportunity:
- Review of the relevant literature applicable to the project
- Training in relevant SOPs and manufacturing/analytical equipment
- Development of analytical methods for the characterization of gel
- Dissolution testing of oral solid dosage forms in combination with gels
- Regular discussion of project progress with supervisors and planning of next steps
- Writing of final report
Who you are:
You are a student (or recently graduated) preferably in the subject of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Technology or Chemistry and have an interest in technical and analytical issues. Furthermore, you are interested in using and sharing your knowledge as part of your Internship in a modern working environment. Your further profile for this position:
- Reliable and accurate working style in a non-GMP environment
- Team-oriented and decision-making personality
- Self-sufficient, problem solving-oriented work habits
- Good knowledge of MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in English and German is a plus
This internship opportunity is one of a number of positions we offer in the department per semester and is not suitable for writing a Bachelor/Master/Diploma thesis.
The interviews will take place on an interview day with all considered candidates and the whole department.
