The opportunity
In response to the Pharma Ambition delivering 20 transformative medicines addressing diseases with the highest societal burden. Pharma Technical Operations set a 2030 North Star, known as our Performance Promises, this ambition is designed to align the whole of the PT organization to drive delivery improvement on the following business outcomes: FAST to Patients, EFFICIENT Operations and ROBUST Processes.We are developing a clear line of sight to this ambition allowing teams, sites, functions, and communities to translate strategy into action. To lead this North Star delivery the Senior Leaders in Pharma Technical Operations is organizing itself to efficiently and effectively support the broader organization.
The Engagement Lead will be a crucial part of the Pharma Technical Operations Chief of Staff Team, focusing on fostering and maintaining strong internal and external partnerships. This role requires exceptional engagement skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of navigating large organizations .The Engagement Lead will work closely with senior leaders in Pharma Technical Operations to drive priorities, strategic focus, and organizational health management. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving initiatives that support the technical operations function and organizational objectives.
Supports the relevant functional Leadership Team in designing, planning and driving the execution of the business strategy and developing and tracking the goals. Manages the strategic plan for the functional area and works closely with the respective Leadership Team to ensure progress and delivery of business topics ensuring business strategy will be executed.May lead global cross functional teams and/or initiatives to deliver functional strategic objectives. Coordinates all operational aspects ensuring smooth functioning, including organizing and facilitating functional Leadership Team meetings and major events.
Responsible for change management initiatives and communication strategy. Brings important business topics from within or outside the organization to the Leadership Team attention and supports decision making.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Partner with the Chief of Staff and senior leaders to design and implement strategic initiatives supporting the technical operations agenda.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
Engagement and Change Management:
- Create comprehensive engagement plans to effectively disseminate information about strategic initiatives and changes.
- Develop and deliver presentations, reports, and other engagement materials to various audiences.
- Manage change initiatives within the technical operations team, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to processes.
Executive Support:
- Provide high-level support to the Chief of Staff, including preparing for leadership meetings and coordinating executive engagements.
- Assist in the preparation of briefs, presentations, and reports for executive leadership.
- Work closely with senior leaders to drive organizational priorities and maintain a focus on organizational health management.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communication, Public Relations, Business Administration, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering). An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's in a related field) is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar engagement, change management, communication, project management role within globally operated industries.
- Excellent engagement, interpersonal, and presentation skills working with senior executive leaders.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and initiatives, with a track record of successful execution.
- Ability to navigate and influence within a matrixed organizational structure.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with change management methodologies.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry. Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
