PhD Position in Pediatric Allergy Research

Using unique clinical data and biological samples collected from birth to adolescence, we aim to identify how environmental exposures shape immune development and protect against asthma and allergic rhinitis. The project combines epidemiology with state-of-the-art omics-technologies, including transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, immunophenotyping, and single-cell analyses.

• Perform laboratory analyses using modern multi-omics technologies with large amount of samples
• Analyze longitudinal clinical and molecular datasets
• Apply statistical and bioinformatic methods
• Publish your research in international journals
• Present your work at national and international conferences
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary and international research team

• Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, Bioinformatics or a related field
• Strong interest in immunology, allergy, or epidemiological research
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Experience with molecular biology, bioinformatics, or programming (R/Python) is an advantage but not required

• A fully funded 3-year PhD position at the University of Bern
