Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.
You will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement (6 months). Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.
- Work model: hybrid {#LI Hybrid}
During this internship, you will have an opportunity to work on different aspects of a hydrogen sensing system for equipment safety. The focus is on optoelectronics, spectroscopy and sensor technology. You will work with state-of-the-art hydrogen sensing technologies for high-demand industrial applications. The internship tasks will include:
- Building and operation of optical and electrical sensor testing setup in laboratory
- Developing testing automation protocol (e.g: LabView platform)
- Data collection, analysis and interpretation of results
- Regular reporting and contribution to decision-making in elaboration of potential solutions
- You currently pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (enrollment to 5th semester or higher is essential) in Electrical Engineering or Material Science
- You are interested in at least one of the following fields: optics, optoelectronics, sensor technology, spectroscopy, data analysis
- You have experience with LabView and/or Python
- You are at ease communicating in English
- Non-EU/non-EFTA citizens, please note that a certificate from your university, showing that an internship is a mandatory part of your studies, is required for the visa application
