The Position
The Device & Packaging Development department within Roche Technical Development is responsible for the development of drug delivery devices for the product portfolio. Our activities span a range of engineering disciplines from the requirements definition phase through to commercialization and marketed product support.
Roche is recruiting for an Intern in Device Engineering to support the development and maintenance of drug delivery devices (e.g., Prefilled Syringes with Needle Safety Devices, Autoinjectors, high-volume Patch-injectors, oral delivery devices).The Device Engineering group combines design, engineering, testing, and manufacturing to develop reliable and safe drug delivery devices that meet the needs of patients, healthcare providers and Health Authorities.
As a Device Engineering Intern, you will gain technical expertise in the development, qualification, and deployment of new injection systems. You will work on a variety of activities, contributing to the development of innovative injection solutions for clinical and commercial use.
The Opportunity:
This internship will offer you the opportunity to play an active role in paving the path for injection systems coming through the pipeline.
During the internship, you will contribute to a significant project through research and active participation in various activities, including:
- Developing and qualifying device solutions for Roche Pharma pipeline molecules by understanding customer needs and effectively utilizing the organization.
- Driving innovation by evaluating and screening novel technologies, materials, and solutions based on patient, product, regulatory, business, and technical requirements.
- Ensuring adherence to international procedures and external regulations.
- Selecting and qualifying drug delivery device solutions considering patient, product, regulatory, business, and technical factors.
- Receiving training in mechanical and analytical testing methodologies.
- Organizing resources and coordinating workflows across multiple functions and stakeholders.
- Interacting with external service providers and suppliers from diverse fields of expertise.
Who you are:
You are an ambitious master's student or recent graduate (within 12 months prior to the start date) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material sciences, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
Moreover, you are:
- A person who works systematically and precisely and brings a high level of initiative as well as a dedicated attitude
- A proactive and transparent team player
- Proficient in English and German
