ASAP: Data Strategy / Product Owner (m/w/d)
As Lead Data Strategist, you will take ownership of the strategic direction for a specific business domain, acting as both consultant and domain expert. Working closely with leaders across Finance, Operations, Data Engineering, and Analytics, you'll guide initiatives from concept through delivery-ensuring that the organisation's investment in data directly supports growth, efficiency, and innovation.
Key responsibilities include:
Domain Strategy & Roadmap- Define and drive the data strategy and roadmap for your assigned domain, ensuring alignment with wider organisational objectives.
- Partner with business leaders to understand priorities and translate them into a clear, actionable delivery plan.
- Proactively identify pain points, optimisation opportunities, and value drivers where data, analytics, or machine learning can unlock meaningful business impact.
- Prioritise use cases based on ROI and feasibility.
- Act as the primary translator between business objectives and technical teams.
- Convert strategic requirements into precise user stories, functional specifications, and deliverables.
- Promote data literacy and act as an evangelist for data‑driven decision‑making.
- Support stakeholders in understanding emerging capabilities and best practices.
- Collaborate with business domain owners to define KPIs, monitor adoption, and track the ROI of data products and solutions.
- Ensure data initiatives deliver sustained, measurable value.

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic thinking, analytical expertise, and stakeholder leadership.
Required Experience & Skills- Strong background in data strategy, data product management, or senior analytics roles, with demonstrable impact on business outcomes.
- Excellent commercial understanding, with the ability to navigate operational and financial drivers of a domain.
- Proven capability to communicate complex data concepts to non‑technical leaders and articulate business needs to technical teams.
- Hands‑on experience managing backlogs, roadmaps, and agile delivery cycles.
- Track record of building trust and influencing senior stakeholders within a matrix environment.
- Solid understanding of modern data platforms (cloud data warehousing, BI tools, analytics solutions) and their real-world application.
- Solid SQL know-how and no "fear" to get your "hands dirty"
- A proactive, curious mindset with the ability to challenge assumptions and drive initiatives independently.
Our client is a international organization with Swiss HQ and high growth trajectory (and plans). In order to support a key initiative related to their data strategy we are looking to speak with experienced data professionals, available to start soon for at least 12 months.
