The opportunity
As Team Leader for Quality & Continuous Improvement, you will lead the quality function and contribute to the site’s leadership team. Your mission is to foster a strong quality culture, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the value chain—from R&D to production and testing.You will lead a small but impactful team, coach cross-functional groups, and champion a mindset where quality is a shared responsibility—not just the role of the quality department.
How you’ll make an impact- Lead and develop the quality team, ensuring the right skills and capabilities
- Champion a culture of shared quality ownership across the GCoC, act as a change agent, promoting accountability and operational excellence (lead time, cost, inventory)
- Influence stakeholders and coach teams to resolve quality issues at the source
- Maintain and improve quality systems, internal controls, and compliance (including corporate and regulatory standards) across all functions
- Represent the Voice of the Customer through feedback and complaint resolution
- Drive resolution of top quality issues, monitor KPIs, and lead audits, ensuring adherence to Hitachi Energy’s quality framework.
- Deploy continuous improvement strategies using Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies
- Collaborate with SCM to ensure supplier quality and alignment with standards
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering—or equivalent in Quality
- 5+ years in quality and systems management, including 3+ years in team leadership
- Proven ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders.
- Strong coaching, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Certified Green or Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma
- Proficient in quality tools (8D, DFMEA, PFMEA) and continuous improvement
- Experience in electromechanical or electronic manufacturing; energy or power electronics sector is a plus
- Fluent in English and German
