This Position reports to:
Research Team Manager - Industrial Software Systems
Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.
You will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement (6 months). Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.
The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Exploring current challenges in software systems through direct interaction with ABB R&D units
- Reviewing academic literature
- Designing, evaluating, and documenting potential solutions
- Quick prototyping of solutions through proof-of-concept implementations
Qualifications for the role:
- Enrolled in an engineering degree or similar (e.g. electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, information technology, mechanical engineering, robotics, physics, machine learning, mathematics, etc.), enrollment to 5th semester or higher is essential
- Theoretical and practical knowledge in one of the following topics: software engineering, distributed systems, computer networking, embedded systems, machine learning, cyber security
- You are at ease communicating in English
- Non-EU/non-EFTA citizens, please note that a certificate from your university, showing that an internship is a mandatory part of your studies, is required for the visa application
