Electrical Lead or System Engineer
As part of Leonardo, Kopter currently develops the AW09, a next generation single-engine helicopter that offers the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, increased modularity and modern electronic systems. The AW09 delivers latest safety standards as well as more performance and comfort at low operating costs.
Kopter is set to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).
Your responsibilities
The Electrical Lead or System Engineer is responsible to:
► Manage the assigned electrical systems and suppliers from a technical point
► Execute system tests
► Take part of the Design Assurance Process
► Take part of the System Certification Activities
► Support Stakeholders, i.e. Airworthiness, Safety, Human Factors, Ground & Flight Testing, etc.
Tasks:
► Write TRDs (Technical Requirement Document) for Kopter custom designed electrical systems
► Perform Electrical Load Analysis of the different aircraft configurations
► Manage, validate and verify requirements in Doors
► Hold technical meetings (System Requirement Review, Qualification Review, etc.)
► Perform system tests on test rig and on aircraft
► Analyze test rig and flight test data
► Write test plans and certification documentation reports
Your qualification & experience
► University Degree or equivalent in electrical, control or aerospace engineering
► 2 to 5 years of experience in the design of Electrical Power Generating and Distribution Systems for fixed/rotary wings aircraft or equivalent. Profiles with over 5+ years of relevant experience will be considered as Lead.
► Experience in electrical systems development, integration, requirements and design assurance
► Knowledge of aircraft electrical generation and distribution systems
► Familiarity with:
- EASA and/or FAA certification requirements
- Environmental qualification DO-160 is an asset
- Airborne software and hardware development DO-178 and DO-254 is an advantage
