Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute with your creativity and technical knowledge to the development of new and innovative solutions in the area of magnetic relays. You will be responsible for the development of new solutions as well as further optimization and evolution of the existing product portfolio.You will take on a coordination role as an interface to the local and global team. With technical leadership and expertise, you perform a variety of complex engineering assignments requiring in-depth knowledge of specific engineering disciplines plus an understanding of related disciplines to cost effectively achieve objectives.
You proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction. In this role, you plan, conduct, coordinate and develop recommendations regarding varied analytical studies such as application of advanced engineering concepts and processes, as well as analyze engineering and business aspects of proposed solutions, develop proposals and coordinate associated activities.
The working model for the role is: onsite
This role is contributing to the division Smart Buidlings within Electrification and is part of the Critical Power Product Line organization.
You will be mainly responsible for:
- Technically responsible reference for magnetic relays, supporting and leading the product team in developing solutions, investigating problems and preparing related recommendations and reports
- Technical project and/or project lead, managing activities of other engineers and assisting in their professional and technical development
This position reports to the R&D Manager
Qualifications for the role:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering / physics or related field
- Min. 5 years of experience as a product or design engineer
- You have strong technical knowledge in the following disciplines and areas:
- Magnetic and electrical system engineering in the area of low voltage products
- Magnetic and conductive materials for the use in electric system as well as for related surface treatment technologies and processes
- Precision mechanical and electrical interfaces
- Deep knowledge in the area of residual current protective devices (RCDs)
- You have proficiency and knowledge in the use of CAD software (preferably Solidworks) as well as very good knowledge and application of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS-Project and PowerBi)
- You have a high degree of self-motivation, have a quick grasp of things and work in a results-oriented manner with a positive attitude
- You have proven experience of problem-solving methodologies and product change management
- You feel comfortable communicating in German and English (spoken and written) and have strong communication skills.
