Strategic Communications Sr Manager
CONTEXT
The Strategic Communications Senior Manager will provide critical support to the Group Corporate Communications Director and the Group Corporate External Communications Director in defining and implementing omni-channel communications strategies towards relevant stakeholder audiences, including media to manage and mitigate issues that could impact Richemont’s reputation.The successful candidate will also develop messages and communications assets (e.g. media statements, Q&As, stakeholder briefs, social media posts, etc) on a broad array of topics, including in relation to Environment Social and Governance (ESG).
The position requires a proactive, strategic thinker who can deliver clear, consistent messaging on complex topics and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisations.
Reporting directly to the Group Corporate External Communications Director, this senior role holder has strong experience in issues / crisis and corporate communications working in a global, matrix organisation. In addition, the successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of ESG dimensions, ideally also in the luxury industry.
How will you make an impact?
Working closely with the Group Corporate Communications Director and the Group Corporate External Communications Director, the Strategic Communications Senior Manager will:
- Support the Group Corporate Communications Director and the Group Corporate External Communications Director in rapid response handling for potential and actual sensitive situations and in establishing protocols for engagement (reactively and proactively).
- Craft clear, concise, and strategic messaging in relation to the topics at hand tailored to different audiences, including employees, investors, and media.
- Oversee the development of communication materials (Holding Statements, QAs, …)
- Work in conjunction with the various Group functions, including Group PR, Marketing, IP, Legal, Security, Regions, and with Maisons as required, to ensure alignment of messaging and approach.
- Leverage communications agency resources
- Support in conducting strategic communication / media training sessions and simulations as needed for key spokespeople across the Group.
- Monitor emerging trends, potential threats, and public sentiment, providing timely insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Conduct post-situation evaluations to assess response effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide clear status updates to senior leadership on preparedness and the effectiveness of response strategies to given situations.
- BA or Master Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs related program area. 10+ years of experience in crisis communications or corporate communications in a listed company, preferably in the luxury goods sector.
- Proven track record of managing high-stakes communications scenarios.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex information into clear messaging tailored to specific audiences
- Bi-lingual English and French preferred (complete fluency in English a pre-requisite)
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Experience with digital communication platforms and social media management.
- Strong executive presence and ability to interface with all levels of the organisation, including senior leaders.
- Hands-on, with exceptional collaboration skills.
